The Apple Pathways Academy is a community of learning and discovery targeting high-performing Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous sophomores majoring in computer science and engineering.

Academy participants or “Pathfinders” receive the following:

  • Renewable scholarship support ($15,000 per year, up to three years)
  • Intensive project-based learning opportunities with Apple experts
  • All-expense paid participation in an annual development conference
  • Virtual chats, panels, workshops and trainings with Apple employees
  • Apple products to increase digital literacy and enhance success in the classroom

Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications to be eligible for the Apple Pathways Academy:

  • Current sophomores
  • Majoring in an eligible discipline: computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Membership in an underrepresented racial group: Black, Hispanic/Latinx and/or Indigenous

The Academy offers first-rate opportunities for Pathfinders to:

  • Persist through college with scholarship support and critical academic support services
  • Accelerate career pathways with resume building and technical interviewing best practices
  • Participate in technical projects to apply lessons learned in the classroom in a real world context
  • Build authentic connections with Apple employees from diverse backgrounds and understand the nuances of Apple’s culture and values

Application Process:

  • Click the “Apply Now” button (below)
  • Create an AIM account using your e-mail address and chosen password (or log into an existing account) to be taken directly to the Welcome page of the Apple Pathways Academy application
  • Complete all required fields in the online application and upload your résumé and college/university transcript
  • Click the “Submit” button on the Save/Submit page of the online application

NOTE: The status Complete will display on your AIM Home page when all forms have been submitted and all documents have been verified. Applicants are responsible for monitoring the progress of all application requirements to make sure their application is complete by 11:59 pm PT on May 19. Late submissions will not be considered.

What is the timeline regarding next steps?
The application process opens on February 6th and closes on May 19th. Selected Pathfinders will be notified by August. Scholarship funds will be disbursed by September 1st and programming will begin in October.

What are the details of the scholarship award?
Pathfinders will be awarded an initial scholarship of $15,000 for their junior year by September. Students who maintain a 3.0 grade point average and remain enrolled in an eligible discipline will qualify for scholarship renewal for their senior year.

What kinds of project-based learning opportunities are available?
Pathfinders will apply learnings from the classroom to real-world technical problems with Apple engineers and faculty at partner institutions.

What can I expect from participating in a fully-funded annual development conference?
Pathfinders will be invited to attend one all-expense paid trip to an Apple-sponsored conference per year. In addition to the opportunity to learn and develop as a conference attendee, they will also have priority access to Apple-sponsored functions, and exclusive invitations to networking opportunities with Apple employees.
